Premiere of “Gwendolyn Brooks: New Art and Anthem”

On the closing night of Centennial Brooks, a three-day conference celebrating the legacy of poet Gwendolyn Brooks, the Logan Center featured jazz flutist Nicole Mitchell’s newly commissioned work, Gwendolyn Brooks: New Art and Anthem, a suite of music featuring Brooks’ poems read by Chicago poets.
